Dragonfly formed in the Sierra's after a road tour with Bill Rogers and The All-Right Family band. The tour bus and Bill parted and the band regrouped in a little sleepy lodge called Calpine Village.

Based out of this area the band played Reno and Tahoe hot spots while practicing hard and appearing as the house band at Calpine Lodge.

It was while the band was based here that Brad had the opportunity to hang and play with Danny Hull, the original Sax player for Cold Blood. Brad made many guest appearances with Danny and his current band at that time (Sutro) and on Sunday evenings the South Shore All-Stars.
